Desktop Support Engineer
Job Description:
Desktop Support Engineer provides support for all local and remote IT services. Support includes handling of user incidents and requests, management of different infrastructure and application components together with the IT operations team.
- Technical knowledge of IT solutions including but not limited to workstation, server and LAN knowledge.
- Providing IT support on client site
- Windows OS
- Windows Server/AD basic knowledge
- Microsoft Office applications (O365)
- Basic understanding of network devices (Cisco and HP)
- Basic understanding of Network topology (TCP/IP, DNS, WINS)
- Experience managing mobile devices
- Experience managing printer support
- Experience of working in an ITIL environment
- Basic understanding of first level application support
- Strong customer service mindset
- Conduct support operations with global team and tools on a day-to-day basis
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – in verbal and written German and English.
Required Skill:
- Good understanding of IT Service Management processes and practices
- Demonstrates a positive and productive attitude
- Manages to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
- Follow organization’s goals, values, policies, and procedures
- Manage competing demands, frequent changes, and uses time effectively
- Strong business understanding
- Experience on preferably several of technological domains: Servers & Storage, Communication Technology, and Managed Desktop Services
- Problem solving capabilities

IT Support Engineer
As an IT Support Engineer at SimbalTech GmbH, you will keep our office
infrastructure and tech setup running smoothly.
Tasks:
- You will provide technical assistance with computer hardware and software
- Keep our office infrastructure and VPN connections running smoothly
- Create and maintain tips and tricks solutions in our wiki
- Proper management of the IT warehouse and implementation of inventories
- Provide the set-up and removal of technical equipment
- Manage workstations
- Ensure proper security of our computers and network
- Ensure that our workplace tech is constantly working— Network, Wifi, Internet Access, Meeting Rooms, Tech Equipment in common spaces and offices, etc.
Required Skill:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent
- You gained previous working experience in professional IT environments or relevant experience in general
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Good knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and popular client applications
- Independent, reliable way of working, high motivation, and hands-on mentality
- Fluent German language skills (Minimum B2)
